John and the team installed the dressed stone to the Garden Room and frankly made what looked a complicated job very easy. I would have no hesitation in using the Company again. On the recommendation of a friend, we asked Durham Stonemasonry Restoration to undertake the work to renew a large and very precarious middle chimney. The work involved dismantling all three chimneys, getting new stone cut, and then rebuilding all three. As our house is a Listed Building, it was particularly important that all the work was done correctly and in keeping. We were delighted with the service we received, the quality of the work and the price and would not hesitate to use this firm again.

The members of Durham Masonic Hall are very proud of the Hall’s heritage and we are determined to preserve the Hall for future generations of Freemasons. The pillar capitals at the entrance had suffered from the effects of weathering for 150 years and had been patched up over the last few decades. We decided to replace them with new carved stone capitals and we are pleased we awarded the contract to replace the left hand capital to Durham Stonemasonry and Restoration as the work has been completed to our satisfaction in a timely manner. The craftsmanship was of such a high standard we have commissioned Durham Stonemasonry and Restoration to do the right side of the entrance also.
If anyone wishes to view the quality of the work it is there for all to see - and will be for the foreseeable future – the capitals will be a lasting testimony to craftsmanship!

We are thrilled with our new sandstone fireplace which has replaced a hideous pre-war affair in an oak panelled room. It looks as if it has always been there and people who have seen it have expressed surprise that it is brand new.
